How long can someone be infected with a Schistosoma parasite and have Schistosomiasis but remain asyptomatic?

If a patient had been swimming somewhere such as Lake Malawi and come back to the UK and did not get tested for Schistosomiasis, is it possible that they could be infected many years later and not know it, as they are asymptomatic?

Schisotsomiasis can remain within human being for up to 30 years and not cause any symptoms. I remember reading a study posted on CDC about how the travelers couldn't recall swimming or any other situation where they might have been exposed to the
